Skylar's works focus on capturing the moments present in nature. She does research to make elegant digital patterns depicting the effects of climate change. Her work also stems through an Interdisciplinary background with painting and photography. She is able to capture the element of time consistently within her practice. Her overall message is that we should appreciate nature rather than take it for granted. Skye focuses on how we should unplug from our digital footprint so that we're more present within our moment in nature. We're always so busy looking at nature constantly through a screen instead of in real life.

Her influences stem from movements of Abstract Expressionism to Pop Art. Even these patterns are seen as part of Contemporary floral art which many have said. The artists who have influenced these pieces are Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Van Gogh.
